My preferences on the type and look of Exotic Shorthair.

My cattery is my personal dream realization, it is also my hope and my pride. My aim is to improve the physical, health and character quality of my cats and of the breed. Our breeders are chosen regarding these issues from the catteries that are close to the same aim as me and the catteries that matches the look and type of exotic shorthair that I chose to work. Even if all serious breeders work with a breed standard, each breeder has got his own preferences on the type and look of Exotic Shorthair that can differ a little. A position of a nose, his shape, a body type, a coat length, a form and position of eyes and ears etc. So I also have got my own preferences and I choose my breeders regarding them. I started my breeding program not so far so I consider that I did not obtain yet the homogeneity of my favorite type but I work, I work and have hope to achieve it in some years.

I will not repeat the standard of Exotic fully here but I would like to highlight some of the most important thing I pay attention for.

The most important to me is a general look, the balance and roundness of all the parts of body of Exotic. HEAVELY boned, well balanced cat with a sweet expression and soft, round lines. I repeat ROUND lines, short body, short and large legs, round paws, short proportional tail.

I do pay attention to a quality of the coat I do love it very dense and plush, not very short as with other shorthair breeds, it must have some length for me but never to fall down on the body. Very rich undercoat allows to complete a teddy bear round and plush look of the Exotis Shorthair.

Regarding the nose there are different preferences on the shape and position of it. Me personally I love it high or even very high placed and well snub, and broad, with “break” centered between the eyes. I do not like the little and thin noses with plucked nostrils so I try to avoid it!

Of cause need to mention the head, round and massive, with great breadth of skull. Well set on a short, thick neck. Very important for me the shortness of the neck. Skull structure to be smooth and round to the touch and not unduly exaggerated from where the forehead begins at the top of the break to the back of the head, as well as across the breadth between the ears. When viewed in profile, the prominence of the eyes is apparent and the forehead, nose, and chin appear to be in vertical alignment.

The ears. I have got some allergie with big ears!  NO, NO, NO, they must be small, round and placed large and low! Surely I cannot pretend to achieve it already but that what I work and pay attention for!

Eyes. Brilliant in color, large, round, and full. The general look must be sweet. For that they must not be placed very deep on a face, the position from the nose, the size, the shape = all counts. All must be in balance and each cat is individual. Curious, big, brilliant eyes of very intense copper color, that what I like!

Our policy regarding the health and character of our cats.

The rule for me = never breed the cats with health problems, with serious physical disqualifications, with a bad character.

All our breeders are checked with the laboratory tests to assurer not to have hereditary health problems and diseases.

All our breeders are FIV, FeLV and PKD negative tested.

We also make tests for a blood group.

I pay attention about the character of my breeders and the work of socialization with kittens. Exotic Shorthair and Persian are so wonderful cats with such a nice character that we as breeders must absolutely preserve it from bad changes. My cats are kind, quiets, friendly, curious, very social and I do also love the “CLOWN” type of character , the cats that are funny in some way, that are playful and  lively.

Exotic shorthair and Persian kittens are available for sale in FRANCE, Nouvelle Aquitaine, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes. We can find a transport for your kitten if you cannot visit us for some reason.

Our kittens are registered in LOOF. The CFA registration can be asked individually.
